Kathmandu—The Embassy of Nepal in Kuwait has confirmed the tragic death of Som Kumar Tamang, a 44-year-old Nepali citizen from Tehrathum district, who was killed in a drone strike in northern Kuwait.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has strongly condemned the indiscriminate attack on civilians. It has urged all parties involved to pursue dialogue and diplomacy, show maximum restraint, and protect the safety and security of civilians as well as civilian infrastructure, in line with their international legal obligations.

The Ministry emphasized the critical need to fully respect and strictly follow the Geneva Conventions and international humanitarian law in all situations. In a press release, it offered heartfelt condolences to the victim’s family and pledged to provide all required support, including arranging for the earliest possible return of his remains to Nepal.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​
