Nepal Stun Scotland in Last-Ball Thriller at Cricket World Cup League 2

 June 3, 2025

Dundee, Forthill – June 3, 2025
Nepal pulled off a dramatic last-ball win over Scotland in a heart-stopping World Cup League 2 one-day international, sealing victory with just one wicket remaining in Dundee.

Chasing 297 for victory, Nepal reached the target in 49.5 overs, thanks to a heroic unbeaten 65 from Karan KC, who came in at number nine. The match ended in chaotic scenes as a leg-side delivery from Scotland’s Mark Watt was called wide, sparking wild celebrations and a pitch invasion from jubilant Nepal fans.

Earlier, Scotland looked in control after posting 296-7, with Charlie Tear scoring 80 and Finlay McCreath adding 55. Nepal started well, with opener Khushal Bhurtel hitting 53, but a middle-order collapse saw them slip from 152-2 to 192-7.

Enter Karan KC, whose blistering 41-ball knock, featuring four sixes, turned the game on its head. With five runs needed from three balls and only one wicket in hand, Karan’s cool finish, assisted by last man Rijan Dhakal, ensured a famous win for Nepal.

Scotland, ranked four places above Nepal, were left stunned, especially after having beaten a Nepal side in a warm-up just days earlier. The tri-series continues on Wednesday, when Nepal face the Netherlands at the same venue.
